2007 /About the Europe Asia Young Leaders Forum

The 6th Europe Asia Young Leaders Forum took place under the title "The Environmental Challenge: What Role for Business?" The three-day conference in Prague focused in particular on the question of to what extent Asia and Europa have a common understanding of the causes and consequences of climate change and on the contributions that business in particular can make to the fight against global warming.

For most of the approximately 45 invited participants from Europe and Asia - younger entrepreneurs, managers, scientists, journalists and political advisors - these topics do not play a prominent role in their everyday professional lives. They were therefore all the more eager to take the opportunity to engage in intensive discussions with the conference speakers who, as scientists, entrepreneurs or media representatives, decisively influence the climate debates and the environmental awareness in their countries.

Activities outside of the conference room provided additional opportunities for the Asian and European participants to exchange ideas and opinions and to get to know each other better. These included the by now traditional "Networking in Nature" - where the participants, divided into four teams, had the chance to prove their physical, intellectual and team playing skills -, the work on a case study in small break-out groups and a city tour of Prague.

This year's Europe Asia Young Leaders Forum was supported once again by the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) in Shanghai, and the NUS Entrepreneurship Centre in Singapore.
